How do I open a BilinkPay account?

Register your interest at bilinkpay.com/contact. Once the app launches, you'll be guided through a short onboarding process: verify your identity, complete a quick KYC check, and your account will be ready.

You'll need a valid passport or UK visa to apply. Approval typically takes a few minutes for most applicants.

Who can open a BilinkPay account?

Anyone with legal residency in the UK can apply, including:

  • Immigrants and long-term residents
  • International students (passport or student visa accepted)
  • Business professionals and SME owners
What documents do I need to apply?

You will need a valid government-issued photo ID (passport or national ID card) and proof of your UK address. International students may use their student visa alongside their passport.

As we are a regulated financial service, we are required to carry out a KYC (Know Your Customer) check. This is an identity verification — not a credit check.

How long does the application take to process?

For most applicants, account approval happens within minutes once all required documents are submitted. In some cases — depending on your application details — it may take up to 24 hours.

We will keep you updated throughout the process.

What currencies does BilinkPay support?

BilinkPay supports GBP and EUR balances in a single multi-currency account. You can hold, spend, and transfer in both currencies without needing a separate account for each.

For outbound FX transfers, we support CNY and other major currencies at transparent, real-time exchange rates. Full currency list will be available at app launch.

Is BilinkPay available outside the UK?

At launch, BilinkPay accounts are available to individuals with legal UK residency. Your BilinkPay Mastercard can be used for purchases wherever Mastercard is accepted globally.

FX transfers to Asia and other regions are supported from launch.

How do I add money to my BilinkPay account?

Once your account is open, you'll be given unique account details (sort code and account number for GBP, IBAN for EUR). Simply send a bank transfer to these details from any UK or European bank account.

You can also convert currencies when adding funds — select the currency you're paying in and the currency you want to receive, and you'll see the live exchange rate before you confirm.

Is BilinkPay regulated?

Yes. Cards and payment services are issued by Equals Money International Limited, which is authorised as an Electronic Money Institution by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) with FRN 900493.

BilinkPay (Bilink Horizon Pay Limited, Reg. No. 16243788) operates as a programme partner under this authorisation.

Is my money protected?

Your funds are safeguarded by Equals Money International Limited in accordance with the UK Payment Services Regulations (PSRs). This means your money is held in designated safeguarding accounts separate from company funds.

⚠️ BilinkPay is not a bank. Your funds are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
How can I update my personal details?

You can update most profile details directly in the BilinkPay app under Settings → My Details. For changes to your email address or registered mobile number, please contact our support team as these require additional verification.

How can I close my account?

To close your account, please contact our support team via the app chat or email contact@bilinkpay.com. Before closing, ensure your account balance is at zero or transferred out.

How do I change my marketing preferences?

Go to Settings → Communication Preferences in the app to manage your marketing communications. You can opt out at any time. Note that important account and regulatory communications cannot be opted out of.

What types of card does BilinkPay offer?

BilinkPay offers two types of Mastercard:

  • Virtual Card — issued upon approval, available to use for online purchases, subscriptions, Apple Pay, and Google Pay immediately.
  • Physical Card — a contactless debit card posted to your registered address. Accepted in-store and at ATMs everywhere Mastercard is accepted.
When will I receive my virtual card?

Your virtual card is issued upon account approval and available to use right away in the BilinkPay app. You can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay immediately after receiving it.

How long does the physical card take to arrive?

Physical cards are sent via Royal Mail 1st class post and typically arrive within 3–5 working days. Delivery may vary depending on postal service conditions.

📬 Your virtual card is available immediately — you don't need to wait for your physical card to start spending.
How do I activate my physical card?

For security reasons, only activate your physical card once it has arrived with you in the post. Go to the Cards section in the BilinkPay app, select your card, and tap "Activate Card".

How do I freeze or cancel my card?

Freezing temporarily stops all transactions on the card. We recommend freezing your card immediately if you think it has been lost or misplaced. You can unfreeze it at any time in the app under Cards → Card Settings.

Cancelling permanently deactivates the card. Go to Cards → Review & Edit Card Settings → Cancel Card. Please note this cannot be undone — you will need to request a new card.

Can I use my BilinkPay card with Apple Pay and Google Pay?

Yes. Your BilinkPay Mastercard can be added to Apple Pay and Google Pay for contactless payments in-store and online. QR code payments within the app are also supported.

How long is my BilinkPay card valid?

Your card is valid for 4 years from the date of issue. The expiry date is printed on your physical card and shown in the app for your virtual card.

🔄 Payments & FX
How long do transfers take?

Transfer times depend on the currency and destination:

  • UK domestic GBP (Faster Payments): typically processed the same business day, often within hours.
  • SEPA EUR payments: credited by end of the next business day.
  • Other currencies / international transfers: up to 3 business days depending on the destination bank and currency.

Payment requests received after 5pm on a business day, or on weekends/bank holidays, will be processed on the next business day.

What exchange rate will I get for FX transfers?

BilinkPay displays the live exchange rate and all applicable fees before you confirm any FX transfer, so there are no surprises. You'll see exactly how much the recipient will receive.

Rates are sourced in real time from the interbank market with a transparent conversion margin clearly shown.

Can I send money to China and other Asian countries?

Yes. BilinkPay supports outbound transfers to CNY (China) and other major Asian currencies. The full list of supported destination currencies will be confirmed at app launch.

To send a transfer, go to Payments → Send in the app, enter the recipient's bank details, select the currency, and confirm the amount and rate.

Are there fees for card transactions in foreign currencies?

When you use your BilinkPay card to pay in a currency that you hold a balance in, no currency conversion is applied. If you pay in a currency outside your account balances, a conversion will occur using the live rate.

All applicable fees are clearly disclosed in the app and in your transaction history. Full fee schedule will be published at launch.

Can I view and download my transaction history?

Yes. All transactions appear in the Transactions section of the app, ordered by date. You can filter by date range, currency, or transaction type.

Statements can be downloaded as PDF or CSV from the app for any date range up to yesterday's date.

🛡️ Security
How does BilinkPay keep my account secure?

BilinkPay employs multiple layers of security:

  • SSL / TLS encryption on all data in transit
  • Multi-factor authentication (MFA) for login and sensitive actions
  • Biometric authentication (Face ID / fingerprint) in the app
  • Real-time fraud monitoring on all card and payment activity
  • Instant card freeze via the app if you suspect unauthorised use
What should I do if I think my card has been used without my permission?

Freeze your card immediately in the app under Cards → Freeze Card. Then contact us via in-app chat or email contact@bilinkpay.com as soon as possible.

If we confirm an unauthorised payment, we will refund you no later than the business day after becoming aware of it, in accordance with UK Payment Services Regulations.

📌 You have up to 13 months from the transaction date to report an unauthorised payment.
What is an Authorised Push Payment (APP) scam and am I protected?

An APP scam is when you are tricked into sending money to a fraudster who pretends to be someone legitimate. BilinkPay participates in the UK's APP scam reimbursement framework for eligible payments made on or after 7 October 2024 via Faster Payments or CHAPS.

If you believe you've been a victim of an APP scam, report it to us and the police as soon as possible (within 13 months). If your claim is accepted, we will reimburse you within 5 business days.

⚠️ You will not be eligible for reimbursement if the payment was made for illegal purposes, to an account you control, or using your card.
How do I keep my account credentials safe?
  • Never share your password, PIN, or one-time codes with anyone — including BilinkPay staff.
  • Use a strong, unique password that is not used on other services.
  • Enable biometric login for faster and more secure access.
  • If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from BilinkPay, do not click any links — contact us directly to verify.
